Day ONE
Day ONE
Soooooo... Plane touched down quited early in the morning... About 6 plus? The sky was already starting to light up from the slightly cloudy blue colour...
Our first stop was to meet up with the tour guide. But not before we cleared the immigration. Which was slow. Very very slow. Did I mention it was S-L-O-W?
I'm certain a snail would've reached hongkon from singapore by the time it was my turn... then again, i'm slightly over-exaggerating.
But it was slow.
The air inside the airport was rather crisp and cold. We claimed our luggages and went out to meet the tour guide.
Yep. He was dressed in a sea blue coloured jacket and he held a rather striking coloured flag... His name is Daniel. :)
Our first destination was breakfast at Motel 168... or was it 186? Ah... see for yourself.
But to reach there, we had to take a tour bus.
And that's Daniel in the centre :)
Our first stop after breakfast (A rather bland one i must say) was the Bund in Shanghai.
I ate corn gruel. I'm never eating that again. Ever.
This was taken at the entrance to the Bund....

We went to some memorial house of this chinese Lady who had her education in the western part of the world and came back to change china alongside Mao zi Dong. Saw doves in cages, flat screen TV's , a courtyard behind the house, and two really old cars that were probably used by her for escortation. (Is there such a word?)
We went to a restaurant for lunch, checked in at our hotels... The name of the 4 star hotel was "Xin Yuan Hotel" or Best Western Hotel...
And so my roomy and I settled down in our room and rested a while before heading off with the others on the bus to Nanjing Road.... The SHOPPING district.
Well, Nanjing road was a little bit like the orchard road in Singapore... Thomson, myself and Rahul went around to take a look at the stuff they sold... We bought some crunchy prunes that Mr So bought as well...
We followed Rahul and his sister to buy chopsticks with Gillian and a few others... Thomson and I waited out side a while...
Well, we didn't buy much... and it was starting to get very cold... I still can remember Christine was talking about how she turned down the aircon back in Singapore to the lowest possible and she still didn't feel cold... haha ...
Thomson and I were wondering how come Seng Chiy, one of the guys from our group, only wore one layer of clothes and didn't feel cold at all...
Nonetheless, we headed for dinner and finally checked back into the hotel. And it was a noisy, very noisy night.
